Welcome to GIT Defense Technologies and Simulation Laboratory
The objective of the Defense Technologies and Simulation Laboratory
in Gebze Institute of Technology
is to research and develop new techniques in distributed simulation systems. The focus of research
in the center is both theoretical and experimental. Specific areas that
are studied within the Lab are time management in distributed systems, causal order
algorithms and HLA (High
Level Architecture).
Recently we concentrate on performance analysis of causal order
algorithms. We try to implement message ordering in a distributed
simulation system with some of the causal order algorithms presented in
the literature. It is aimed to compare the algorithms.
Another project in our laboratory is to implement RTI
with a causal order algorithm. RTI acts as a distributed operating
system in a distributed system using HLA, that ensures communication, synchronization
and data exchanges between simulators. One of the services that RTI
provides is for message ordering. To
order messages in the system, RTI uses a time stamped message order
algorithm. We aim to try causal order instead of it.
The laboratory was
established at Department of
Computer Engineering in 2002 and currently in use by a group of
student at graduate level.
Dr. Erdoğan Sevilgen is the advisor for all projects. |
